Updated New Hire Pamphlets Now Available

Last Updated 4/2/2024

Employers should be alerted that two pamphlets required to be distributed to employees when appropriate have now been updated by the State of California for 2024.  The first, entitled For Your Benefit: California’s Programs for the Unemployed (Form DE 2320), which must be furnished both upon hire and termination, provides information about programs offered by the Employment Development Department (EDD) for unemployed Californians. This guide provides details on unemployment insurance, state disability insurance, paid family leave, workforce services and a general section on how to get help.

The other, known as the Time of Hire Notice, published by the Department of Industrial Relations and also recently updated, must be provided to all new hires.  The handout includes detailed information on workers’ compensation such as: an overview of the workers’ compensation system, what are the benefits, what an employee should do if he/she has an injury, information about medical care, and what to do if there is a problem.

Employers should ensure that they are offering the most up-to-date versions of these pamphlets to their workers.

Rosasco Law Group is always available to help answer any questions that employers may have regarding these pamphlets or any other requirements at every step of the employment process.  Our firm wants to ensure that our clients go through all of the proper stages during hiring and termination, so give our office a call and we will help guide you.
